Skeptics society
Established in 1992, the SKEPTICS SOCIETY is a 501(c)(3) educational and research nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting science and reason. We apply rigorous scientific thinking to investigate claims of all kinds, particularly those deemed controversial. From culture and technology to groundbreaking scientific discoveries, no topic is off-limits.
What We Do
At Skeptic, our experts dedicate years—often decades—to studying intricate phenomena. We present well-founded insights to help you draw reliable conclusions. While we can’t guarantee that everything we publish is flawless, our content is far more likely to be directionally accurate than the partisan rhetoric found in many other publications.
What you won’t find here are opinions hastily formed in the wake of major events. Social and traditional media are flooded with commentary on complex world issues by individuals who, moments before, had no knowledge of the topic. That’s not what we do.
Skepticism is a commitment to questioning, investigating, and seeking evidence before drawing conclusions—rejecting easy answers in favor of careful, thoughtful analysis.
This commitment to evidence-based inquiry is why both Skeptic and the Skeptic Research Center adhere to strict nonpartisanship.
Our guiding principle is simple: to uncover the truth—whether it's clear, controversial, or somewhere in between.
Through rigorous reasoning and steadfast commitment to the scientific method, we ground our work in reality. That’s why we call our approach reality-based.
